Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves."
Jesus told us there would be wolves in sheep's clothing, and that they would infiltrate the church. Even though they would look, act, sound and smell like sheep, they would be hungry wolves ready to destroy the work that God is doing in our lives.
They would appear to be telling the truth, but they would really be lying.
How can you tell the truth from a lie? Search the Scriptures.
Acts 17:10-11 The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so.
Be like the Bereans. Don’t take anyone’s word, mine included, without examining the Scriptures for yourself. Hold each one’s words up to the scrutiny of God’s Word and see if it stands as the truth before holy God.
