With the warm weather came the people. Visitors to the area abound. It is easier to walk downtown than it is to find a parking space. Friends have appeared at church who have not been seen for a while. As members head out on vacation, 2 other vacationers take their places in the pews. It is fun to see who will be here from week to week.
It seems like a strange time to be preaching from the book of Revelation, with visitors and others coming and going. But I believe that God told me to preach this series now. The conversation went something like this:
God: I want you to preach a series from Revelation.
Me: Who, me?
God: I want you to begin now.
Me: What, in the summer?
God: Trust Me.
Me: Yes, but I'm not an expert. How will I know what to say?
God: As always, My Holy Spirit will guide your every word.
I didn't need to ask, "Why?" I got the message. It simply came down to one question. Do I trust God, or don't I?
As you will see on the Sermons page, we are 3 messages into Revelation. And actually, if you would like to catch up completely, chapters 2 and 3 were covered under 2 sermons from the Legacy Series called A People Of Faith and A Marked Church.
I hope you choose to take this journey with me through perhaps the least understood book and certainly the most exciting, confusing and controversial book of the Bible. You may disagree with some of the timing or the interpretation of specific images and events, but I pray that you will find hope, peace and joy as we wrestle with things yet to come.
Come and join me as we discover our Future Hope!
