Down by the bay where the watermelons grow,
Back to my home I'll never go,
Cause if I did, my mother would say,
"Did you ever see a bear chomping on a pear
Down by the bay?"
Every verse would have a new made-up rhyme, and could go on as long as people wanted to make up new ones. Usually we would end it with something like this:
Did you ever see a dog chewing on a stick...
Did you ever see a man getting a sunburn...
Did you ever have an orange...
Did you ever have a time when you couldn't make a rhyme
Down by the bay?
Or in my case, did you ever have a day when you didn't know what to say?
I have once again been terrible at keeping up on this blog. Several times I have tried to write something meaningful here, but each time it seemed as thought I hit a brick wall. I apologize.
I realize that what is more important than how much I write or even to an extent what I write is simply that I do write. It is a sign of my relationship with you, my reader.
My goal in this space is simply to share my heart with you. Hopefully that is meaningful to you.
So my pledge to you is to be more consistent as I share with you. No matter the issues on my plate, or the size of my to-do list, I will share with you.
Because together we are stronger, as we recognize Jesus working in each other's lives. Together we are the body of Christ.
